Our Program
What the Nicole’s House Program Is Like
Nicole’s House is a one-year, Christ-centered residential program for women who need a safe, structured place to heal, recover, and rebuild their lives. Throughout the program, we seek to create an environment where women can step away from the patterns and pressures that have shaped their past and begin building a healthier future with Christ at the center.
Life at Nicole’s House is intentionally structured around faith, recovery, personal responsibility, healthy relationships, and community. Our goal is not simply to help women complete a program. We want each woman to have the opportunity to grow spiritually, establish healthy patterns for everyday life, strengthen her recovery, and prepare for the next season of her life.

Christ at the Center
Our faith is foundational to life at Nicole’s House. We believe lasting restoration involves more than changing circumstances or behaviors. It begins with allowing Christ to transform the heart, mind, and direction of our lives.
Philippians 4:8 encourages us to focus our minds on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and worthy of praise. During their time at Nicole’s House, women are encouraged to apply these principles to their thoughts, decisions, relationships, attitudes, and daily lives.
Prayer and Scripture are woven into the rhythm of the home. Women participate in daily devotions and prayer together, regularly attend church, and receive additional spiritual encouragement through Christ-centered Bible studies led by women from the community.

A Safe and Substance-Free Environment
Nicole’s House is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment where women can focus fully on their recovery.
Throughout the one-year program, residents refrain from smoking, drinking alcohol, and using drugs in any form. These expectations help protect the recovery environment of the entire household and give each woman the opportunity to establish new habits without the presence of substances that may interfere with her healing.
We are also reminded in 1 Corinthians 6:19 that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We encourage women to begin seeing their bodies and their lives as worthy of care, dignity, respect, and wise stewardship.

Recovery Is Part of the Weekly Rhythm
Recovery is an important part of the Nicole’s House program. Each woman participates in approximately three to five recovery meetings each week.
Depending upon individual needs and available programs, these meetings may include Celebrate Recovery, Christ-centered recovery programs, Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, or similar recovery support groups.
Consistent participation helps women build accountability, understand patterns connected to addiction and destructive behaviors, develop practical recovery tools, and establish supportive relationships that can continue beyond their time at Nicole’s House.

A Year Focused on Healing
During the one-year program, residents are asked to refrain from dating, including relationships pursued through texting, phone calls, social media, or other electronic communication.
This season is intentionally set apart so that each woman can focus her attention on her relationship with Christ, her recovery, emotional and spiritual growth, healthy friendships, and rebuilding her life.
Removing the pressures and distractions of romantic relationships for a season gives women space to discover who they are, strengthen healthy boundaries, and make decisions about their future from a more stable foundation.

Church and Spiritual Community
Women at Nicole’s House attend church together regularly, including Wednesday evening services and Sunday morning worship.
One to two times each week, women from the surrounding community also come into the home to lead Christ-centered Bible studies, offer encouragement, build relationships, and walk alongside our residents in their spiritual growth.
These connections help remind each woman that she is not rebuilding her life alone. Healthy community and supportive relationships are an important part of long-term restoration.

Living Together Like a Healthy Family
Nicole’s House is more than a place to stay. We want the home to reflect many of the qualities of a healthy family.
Women pray together, participate in devotions, share responsibilities, encourage one another, practice healthy communication, and learn how to live in community.
Living together naturally brings opportunities to practice patience, responsibility, forgiveness, boundaries, conflict resolution, and consideration for others. These everyday experiences become an important part of preparing women for healthy relationships and independent living in the future.

Building New Patterns for Life
Recovery involves much more than stopping destructive behavior. It also means learning new ways of thinking, responding, relating, and living.
Throughout the program, women are encouraged to develop routines and habits that support a stable life. This includes personal responsibility, accountability, spiritual growth, healthy relationships, respect for themselves and others, and making thoughtful choices about their future.
Over the course of a year, these small daily practices can begin to form an entirely new rhythm of life.

Preparing for What Comes Next
The ultimate goal of Nicole’s House is not simply program completion.
Our desire is that each woman leaves Nicole’s House with a stronger relationship with Christ, a solid foundation for continued recovery, healthier patterns for daily living, greater confidence and personal responsibility, supportive relationships, and hope for the future.
A year at Nicole’s House is a season of stepping away from what has been and intentionally preparing for what can be.
It is a time to heal.
A time to grow.
A time to rebuild.
And, above all, a time to discover what life can look like with Christ at the center.

A Typical Day at Nicole's House
While each day at Nicole’s House may look a little different, Mondays are intentionally set aside as a day for the women to be home together. It is a chance to reconnect, focus on recovery goals, work through the program curriculum, and begin the week with purpose.
Morning | Beginning the Week Together
Monday begins with breakfast together. Sharing a meal gives the women an opportunity to slow down, connect with one another, and begin the week as a household.
After breakfast, the women participate in case management. This time is used to talk through individual needs, progress, goals, upcoming appointments, practical concerns, and the next steps each woman is working toward as she rebuilds her life.
The group also spends time discussing the Nicole’s House curriculum. These conversations are designed to help women examine the patterns, choices, relationships, and experiences that have shaped their lives while developing healthier ways of thinking and living.
Midday | Fellowship and Support
The women share lunch together with all staff, including the Executive Director, before continuing with the afternoon portion of the day.
Mondays also include counseling, providing dedicated time for women to work through personal challenges, receive support, and continue the deeper work involved in healing and recovery.
Evening | Recovery and Reflection
In the evening, the women attend a recovery meeting, typically Celebrate Recovery or Alcoholics Anonymous. Recovery meetings provide additional accountability, encouragement, practical tools, and connection with others who understand the recovery journey.
Each woman is also encouraged to spend personal quiet time with God, using devotionals, Scripture, prayer, and reflection. While much of life at Nicole’s House is lived in community, we also believe it is important for every woman to develop her own personal relationship with Christ.
A Rhythm of Recovery, Faith, and Community
A Monday at Nicole’s House reflects much of what the program is about: women sharing life together while also doing the individual work necessary to heal and move forward.
There is time for meals and fellowship, practical case management, learning, counseling, recovery meetings, and quiet time with God. Together, these rhythms help create a safe and structured environment where women can begin developing the habits, relationships, and spiritual foundation they will carry with them beyond Nicole’s House.
